Architect's and
Engineer's Specifications
The active equaliser shall be
a 1 (or 2) channel rack-mountable unit with 15 (or 31) 'high definition'
filters per channel placed on ISO centres. Equaliser settings shall be
graphically displayed by the position of each filter's centre-detented
high-resolution control fader. A fader range switch shall be provided to
allow selection of either 6dB or 12dB of band gain or attenuation relative
to unity gain.
Inputs and outputs shall be
via XLR and 1/4" jack connectors and shall be electronically balanced.
The equaliser shall have a
unity gain frequency response of +0/-0.5dB from 20Hz to 20kHz, distortion of
no more than 0.01% @ +4dBu, and hum and noise of at least -100dBu unweighted.
The equaliser shall be
capable of delivering +22dBu (12V rms) into a 600 Ohm load. Equalisation and
operational functions shall include 30-step detented rotary controls for:
trimming output gain between -infinity and +6dB, a user-definable peak
indication threshold control ranging from -10dB to +22dB, and a 24dB per
octave high pass filter with corner frequency continuously variable between
5Hz and 200Hz.
The equaliser shall
incorporate a facility to bypass the graphic filter section but not the high
pass filter. A rear-mounted panel switch shall be provided to safely isolate
signal grounds from AC and chassis grounds.
The equaliser shall be
capable of operation from a 220/240V 50Hz AC power source, and shall be 2
rack units (3.5") high. A perspex front panel security cover shall be
available.
The published specifications
shall be met or exceeded.
The equaliser shall be a
model EQ 152/311/312 manufactured by C Audio, Herts, England.
